New Orleans Jeweler Hubert Ryan Aucoin Dies



Aucoin, 38, died from cancer

Hubert Ryan Aucoin, principal in Aucoin Hart Jewelers in New Orleans, died May 15 from T-cell lymphoma and leukemia. He was 38.

Known as Ryan, Aucoin handled creative advertising, diamond buying, and other duties for his family retail business.

“His passion for diamonds, beauty, and craftsmanship came together in a way that impacted people around the world,” says an online obit. “His discerning eye for jewelry, especially diamonds, was like no other. Ryan’s legacy lives on in all who had the pleasure of working with him and through the pieces of jewelry he created.”

In his spare time, Aucoin enjoyed art, poetry, wine, and playing guitar and piano.

He is survived by his wife, Crystalyn; baby son Winston; parents Tommy Sr. and Donna; and brother and sister-in-law Tommy Jr. and Tricia.
