Nordstrom’s New York City flagship store will occupy seven stories in one Manhattan’s tallest buildings, the company confirmed.
The 285,000-square-foot flagship, Nordstrom’s first store in Manhattan, is set to open on West 57th Street in 2018. It will have street-level entrances on West 58th Street, West 57th Street, and Broadway.
The mixed-used tower, built by Extell Development Co., will be one of the city’s tallest buildings. According to the New York Post, the building is even taller than the Empire State Building, but not as big as the new Freedom Tower.
Nordstrom has purchased the space as a condominium; the Post put Nordstrom’s purchase price at $102 million. The company declined comment on the actual price.
Extell is also building the International Gem Tower in the 47th Street Diamond District.
