New Jewelry and Watch Styles Introduced at JIC Luncheon

The Jewelry Information Center hosted its second largest annual event of the year, a jewelry preview and luncheon at Opia Restaurant in New York City on May 8. The event welcomed more than 70 consumer and trade magazine editors, newspaper reporters, and stylists from some of the most influential publications in the jewelry industry.

Two models were decked out in noteworthy fine jewelry, which had never been seen before by the press. The models’ jewelry was on loan from members of JIC. In addition, 15 pieces were shown in tabletop displays.

The trade association sponsors (Cultured Pearl Association of America, Natural Color Diamond Association, Palladium Alliance International, and World Gold Council) showcased fine jewelry in their respective categories. JIC chairwoman Myriam Gumuchian thanked the press for the ongoing coverage of fine jewelry and watches.

Adding to the excitement of the event was a number of giveaways, including spa services courtesy of Equinox, a ring by Gumuchian’s company Gumuchian, a necklace on behalf of CPAA for Girls of Hawaii designed by Deborah Duval, a ring by Nina Basharova on behalf of Palladium Alliance International, and jewelry by Heather Moore and Coomi Jewels on behalf of WGC.
