New From Galatea: Diamond Engagement Rings

I expect Chi Huynh, the creative force behind Galatea Jewelry by Artist, to wow me with new pearl designs, but diamond jewelry? Not his department—until now, anyway.

Huynh is debuting his Princess Collection of bridal semi-mounts and wedding bands based on a style he created for his own bride 10 years ago.

“I wanted to give her something special—a ring created with joy, love, and hope that spoke from my heart to hers,” he told the press this week.

Each of the 68 SKUs features the trademark Galatea swirl motif, an ode to the “golden ratio” or “divine proportion,” a harmonious set of measurements that occur in nature. All the semi-mounts—available with matching contoured bands—are made in rhodium-plated 14k white gold to accommodate round center stones of up to 1 ct. Melee is G-H color and SI quality.

The collection is so new that pricing has yet to be determined. Bonus: The selfless Mrs. Huynh has even made her own design—the ring that inspired the collection—available to others as part of the line.
