New conference for independent jewelry makers

There’s a new educational conference for small manufacturers, metalsmiths, designing jewelers, and bench jewelers. It’s called, “Clasp, a Convergence of Jewelers,” and the inaugural event will be held Sept. 15-17 in Nashville, Tenn. The event is designed to encourage education, networking, inspiration, and growth.

A total of 20 speakers will present topics related to the conference’s three tracks: Muse, Method, and Money. The program is intended to allow participants to explore every aspect of jewelry making art. Independent jewelry-makers will be encouraged to take advantage of networking opportunities in a casual, non-competitive setting.

Clasp’s main sponsor is Rio Grande; Advisory sponsors are Ganoksin, Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, and The Society of North American Goldsmiths.

The conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Nashville. For more information visit www.claspconvergence.com.
