New Additions Announced for JIS October 2018 Show

October is right around the corner, and the Jewelers International Showcase team is busy preparing for its 2018 JIS October show in Miami Beach, Fla. Returning to its home at the newly renovated Miami Beach Convention Center, the show has announced a wealth of additions, including new partnerships, brands, and show features.

For the first time in its history, JIS has teamed up with the Centurion South Beach show to bring an expanded selection of almost 100 high-end luxury brands—including a new pavilion dedicated to suppliers of Forevermark—to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Attendees will have access to both events with a single badge.

At press time, the exhibitor list for JIS October is 30 percent larger than last year at this same time, and attendee registration is pacing ahead over previous years as well.

Visitors to this year’s event will find a new, expanded floor plan, featuring dedicated pavilions, designed to make navigation easy. Returning segments from last year’s show are bigger and better: a 50 percent larger Italian Pavilion as well as an upscale Galleria Pavilion that is 40 percent larger aim to please. These are in addition to the pavilions and sections including Hong Kong, Brands, Plumb Club, and Fine Jewelry. Sterling Silver and Affordable Fashion are making their debuts as separate pavilions this year, based on customer feedback.

Speaking of customer feedback, JIS will premiere a brand-new segment this year: the ETS Pavilion. Modeled after the neighborhood of the same name at JCK Las Vegas, ETS (Equipment, Technology, and Services) will showcase exhibitors whose products and services play critical roles in supporting jewelers. You’ll find software, packaging, tooling, refining, insurance, and more.

“Since JIS was acquired by Reed Exhibitions three years ago, millions of dollars and thousands of hours have been invested in the JIS shows to provide across-the-board upgrades, all with the goal of delivering a genuinely unique and exciting experience for the jewelry trade,” said industry vice president of JIS shows, Jordan Tuchband, in a press release. “This particular October show is going to be extremely special because it will be the first time the jewelry industry will get to experience all of these components coming together seamlessly as we return to our home in the beautiful new Miami Beach Convention Center.”

The JIS Miami show will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center October 19–22. For more information, visit jisshow.com/october.
