Specialty retailer Neiman Marcus Group Inc., Dallas, said Thursday its comparable-store sales — sales at stores open at least a year-dropped 5.4% in June to $242.1 million due to weak market conditions, Reuters reported.
Its total June revenues fell 4.9% to $243.5 million from $256.0 million a year earlier, Reuters reported. The East and West Coast regions did best, while women’s contemporary sportswear, precious jewelry and cosmetics were the strongest categories.
Neiman Marcus said the decline in June same-store sales is in line with company expectations for flat to slightly lower comparable revenues in the fourth quarter, Reuters reported.
For the year-to-date, comparable-store sales are up 2.6% to $2.76 billion and total sales are up 3.4% to $2.78 billion, Reuters reported.
