After the success of its seminar on blue diamonds earlier this month, the Natural Color Diamond Association plans to host an even bigger brown diamond event.

Nearly 100 NCDIA members and retailers attended the May 9 blue diamond conference in at the Gemological Institute of America’s Education Center in New York City. Among those in attendance were Tiffany’s, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s.

The NCDIA brown diamond event will be in New York City in October. The date and location will be announced in the upcoming NCDIA newsletter.

“NCDIA is a resource for information and education on natural color diamonds,” Jeff Post, NCDIA president, said in a statement.

“Brown diamonds are ‘the entrée’ into the fancy color world, so it is important our industry speak intelligently about the product—on a designer and manufacturing—and a retail level,” Post said.
