Natural Sapphire Co. is manufacturing a $45,000 blinged-out rattle for Princess Charlotte, the newest member of the royal family.
“We are making it in 18k white gold, sapphires, rubies, and diamonds,” says spokesperson Yvette Tse. “It should be about five to six inches in length. It will be fully functioning, though it probably shouldn’t be used. It’s more of a commemorative object.”
The proposed rattle will mimic the Union Jack and will be sent to a service that collects gifts for the royal couple.
The company said it’s fashioning the rattle as a thank you to parents Kate Middleton and Prince William. Its business grew 300 percent after Kate received a blue sapphire engagement ring patterned after Princess Diana’s.
Princess Charlotte was born May 2.
