Natural Diamond Council chair Sandrine Conseiller (pictured) says the group has already begun its search for a replacement for CEO David Kellie.
Kellie, who has served as CEO of the Natural Diamond Council (NDC) since December 2019, announced earlier this week that he would step down by the end of 2025.
“We expect David to leave the business later this year, and the search for a successor is well underway,” Conseiller, who is also CEO of De Beers Group Brands, tells JCK. “CEO succession is a top priority for a board, and the NDC board is no exception to that.
“The NDC has made meaningful progress lately in bringing the industry closer together. The signing of the Luanda Accord marks a pivotal moment for the natural diamond industry, securing long-term funding and reinforcing the NDC’s ability to promote the category globally,” says Conseiller. “We will build on this momentum to put together a strong plan for 2026.”
