
Joseph (“Joe”) Tenhagen, associate director of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and a longtime appraiser and consultant to the gem business, died on April 27 at age 79.
Tenhagen joined the NAJA in 1992 as associate director, and served in that role until his death.
Tenhagen published the Diamond Value Index from 1995 to 1998. He also served as president of the Diamond Dealers Club of Florida and the Accredited Gemologist Association.
