National Jewelry Institute Partners With Parsons

The National Jewelry Institute has partnered with Parsons School of Design for a series of weeklong intensive courses under the name NJI @ Parsons.

The first course will called The Fine Art of High Jewelry and will debut in 2015 in New York and Paris. “In the mornings, participants will attend courses taught by Parsons expert faculty,” a statement explained. “In the afternoons, participants will gain access to the ateliers of the leading brands, collections of major museums, discuss jewelry with collectors and professionals in the field.”

WWD reports that the program will be open to the public, and that applications will be available closer to class time.

The partnership will also bring about the Fine Art of High Jewelry Awards in 2015 in Paris. Parsons faculty and NJI board members will recognize the best piece of jewelry or watch from each new collection in addition to outstanding emerging talent. The awards ceremony will take place on June 6, 2015, the first day of Paris Haute Couture week, and will be celebrated with a dinner at the Louvre.
