The 20th Annual MJSA Vision Awards Competition is now open
to receive entries.  The awards
celebrate outstanding talent in the field of jewelry design. 

For 2011, a new category has been added, Custom Design
Distinction. Sponsored by Gemvision Corp., the new award will recognize a
custom design that met a specific client’s request and overcame any challenges
encountered during the design process. 

The Custom Design Distinction award joins the six existing
categories: Design Excellence; Visionary Technical Solution; Laser Distinction,
sponsored by LaserStar Technologies Corp.; Gold Distinction, sponsored by
Hoover & Strong; and Future of the Industry awards for students, sponsored
by the MJSA Education Foundation.

Prizes include gift certificates of up to $500 (courtesy of
Rio Grande), cash awards, book libraries, and, for student winners,
scholarships of up to $1,000.  In
addition, the winning entries will be on display for buyers and exhibitors
during the annual MJSA Expo New York, which will be held March 13-15, 2011, at
the Hilton New York. An awards ceremony during the show honors the winners with
trophies.
