I am not a bag person.
There are those that would give their left arm for a Birkin, those who go gaga for Gucci, and people who are passionate for Prada.
While I can appreciate each of those (the smell of a good leather bag—my word!), I mostly just try to wear things with pockets.
What I am, however, is a jewelry person, and a recent collaboration between one fantastic jewelry brand (Misahara) and one very cool clutch maker (Jeffrey Levinson) has me thinking I might, kinda, sorta, be a bag person. I mean, I could certainly go for one of these.
Misahara designer Lepa Galeb-Roskopp has teamed up with Levinson for the ultimate luxury accessory that takes versatility to a new level.
The collab takes Levinson’s signature Finley clutch—a perfect size holder-of-all-things made from aerospace aluminum that’s both lightweight and strong—and multiplies its glam factor with Misahara’s superbly chic jewels.
Each clutch, which was designed to fit every phone on the market with a patented feature that allows the phone to work while latched inside, gets an upgrade with Misahara’s signature Chain City chain in 14k gold as a detachable bag strap. When it’s detached, the chain—which underwent various stress tests to ensure its durability—can be worn as a necklace (or bracelet). The clutch also features matching hardware end caps for extra glam.
“This day-to-night, chain-to-jewelry combination has never been done before and our customers love it,” the designers told JCK in an e-mail. “As seen across industries, the ability to offer fully custom and personalized products excites consumers. Not only can we match fabrics and create custom artwork on the clutches, we can also build a bespoke chain with enamel and stones to match any customer desire.”
Each bag is one-of-a-kind, and fully customizable as customers can choose from a variety of gemstones in rose, yellow, or white gold, with or without enamel, texture, and in different lengths. The clutch’s finishes and end cap hardware also come in different finishes such as gloss, matte, translucent, precious metal, fine leaf, and exotic materials.
“One of the most exciting developments we are seeing is an eagerness to create their Misahara Finley Clutch to match their luxury cars,” the designers continued. “Because both brands are closely aligned with some of the most iconic luxury cars in the world, a six-year partnership with Ferrari for Misahara and a brand built on the very DNA of Jaguar Cars for Jeffrey Levinson, the partnership can deliver on this promise like nobody else. Every element of the clutch and chain can be crafted to match any car—from a touring Rolls-Royce to a track-ready Aston Martin. Our clients have quickly embraced the beauty and elegance of this concept, and we’re quite literally off to the races with it.”
Final pricing is determined once customization options have been chosen, but prices start at $10,000 for an 18-inch chain; $15,000 for 20 inches; and $20,000 for a 22-inch chain. It’s the perfect opportunity to make someone’s Mother’s Day a memorable one.
