Miriam “Mimo” Kamau Caplan, the founder and director of Mimo Gem Traders, has been appointed vice president of Evan Caplan Company.
Evan Caplan is a Los Angeles–based wholesaler of gemstones, founded by Miriam’s husband Evan.
Mimo Gem Traders, based in Nairobi, Kenya, specializes in rare gems. A statement credits Caplan with implementing solar-powered water systems and educational programs aimed at fostering sustainable mining practices across Africa.
