Some people are busy, and some people are busy. Enter Michael O’Connor, a beloved jewelry expert, trend spotter, Red-Carpet personality, and QVC regular–whew!–who has now expanded his professional repertoire. O’Connor, who also served as the senior vice president of public relations for Platinum Guild International USA in New York, will offer celebrity outreach, broadcast media spots, and editorial previews in the New Year through his company Style & Substance. Both retailers and designers can take advantage of O’Connor’s reach by way of television spots, Hollywood and fashion magazine connections, and more, that aim to deliver a lot of bang for the user’s buck.
“These encapsulated programs will be extremely useful for smaller companies who wish to have media or celebrity presence by providing them with more immediate results and further public relations and sales opportunities,” O’Connor told the press.
Intentions are well-meaning, but nothing speaks louder than facts. Of course, O’Connor has a bunch, including getting media coverage for jewelry retailer Michael C. Fina and recognition for brands like Gumuchian and Michael Bondanza. Perhaps most memorable of all of his efforts is the cool $2 million worth of media value O’Connor secured for one jewelry designer in particular. Which one? “I’d prefer not to mention,” he told JCK.
Did we also say he’s discreet?
