Same-store sales at Michael Hill’s 11 U.S. locations rose 5.8 percent over the last year, the company said in a statement.
Overall U.S. sales were $9.98 million, it added, down from last year’s $10.3 million, reflecting the closure of a store in June 2013.
In local currency terms, comps at its Canadian stores rose 10.1 percent; comps in Australia rose 0.8 percent; and in New Zealand, they fell 1.9 percent.
The U.S. business “performed solidly” and Canada exhibited “strong growth,” the company said.
