In the teen-movie pantheon, 2004’s Mean Girls ranks as one of the best, with its quotable lines and memorable villain, Regina George. So fans have been eager for the release of the film adaptation of the Mean Girls musical that debuted on Broadway in 2018.
With the musical film hitting theaters Jan. 12, it feels right to celebrate the characters and colors that make Mean Girls so iconic. That means lots of pink, fetching designs, and plenty of sparkle to represent the high school queen bee world captured by comic genius Tina Fey (screenwriter for both the original and new movies).
There is no jewelry industry burn book, so go ahead and put on any of these pieces if you’re attending a screening of the new Mean Girls. But you can wear them anywhere, or if you just want to channel your inner Plastic or go like Glen Coco. And you can wear hoop earrings whenever you want, even if Regina claimed them as her thing.
Now that all of that is out of the way… Get in, we’re going shopping.
Cady Heron had to open her heart to high school and all of its challenges, and she’d likely open her heart to this 18k yellow gold watermelon tourmaline pendant necklace ($14,200). We’d love to possess this 22k gold pink tourmaline Tibetan ring ($14,300), which is as lovely as it is substantial. Wheeler could make someone the most popular girl in high school, or at least keep her out of the burn book. (Photo courtesy of Emily P.
