We shared that the most-pinned ring had 63,000 pins, but it turns out there are other rings with more than 160,000 pins

Last week, website Hello Giggles posted that it had found the most-pinned engagement ring. It was a fun story that spread quickly across the web, and I posted about it, too. 

And then the comments and emails starting coming in that there were rings with more pins.

One commenter said that her own search revealed another Verragio ring with 76,100 pins. And then Brilliant Earth reached out to share that two of their rings that each have more than 160,000 pins! A stack of diamond bands has 166,200 pins and the halo ring pictured has 160,700 pins.

With pins in the hundreds of thousands, how did we all get it so wrong?

It turns out it’s really hard to find the most popular pins on Pinterest: The site doesn’t provide its own definitive rankings. We have emailed Hello Giggles about its methodology and will update this post when we hear back. I’ve also reached out to a Pinterest expert to learn more about how Pinterest rankings work, and if it’s even possible to find out which ring has the most pins.

In the meantime, this beauty from Brilliant Earth deserves your ogling, and you deserve my apologies for my lack of due diligence on this story.
