Maui Divers Appoints New CEO

Maui Divers Jewelry, which operates 34 stores in Hawaii, has appointed veteran luxury retail exec David Charles its president and CEO.

He succeeds Cliff Slater, one of Maui Divers Jewelry’s founders who returned from retirement in July 2014 to serve as interim CEO.

Charles joins Maui Divers with more than 25 years of experience in luxury retail. He recently served as a regional president for the Pacific for the DFS Group, a Hong Kong–based company that operates duty-free shops.

In a statement, Slater said, “I’m proud of what this organization has accomplished during a challenging economic period for luxury goods sales.”

“Maui Divers Jewelry is a unique local company with a talented group of designers and jewelers who create beautiful jewelry here in Hawaii,” said Charles in a statement.
