Marli New York Debuts Diamond-Studded Timepieces

Share

Fine jewelry brand Marli New York is expanding into watchmaking with its first timepieces that connect its roots in vibrant New York City with the measured discipline of Swiss-made movement.

Marli Timepieces is using this idea of Motion and Measure as its guiding philosophy, says founder and creative director Maral Artinian. She says she wanted the watches to coordinate with Marli New York’s jewelry and pyramid icon, allowing clients to mix and match the brand’s cuffs, bracelets, and watches.

The Marli Timepieces collection—which debuted today at the brand’s Rue du Rhône boutique in Geneva and will be found at Marli’s new Madison Avenue flagship opening later this month—has two distinct designs in three case sizes. L23 and L30 come in stainless steel, 18k rose gold, or 18k white gold. All feature natural mother-of-pearl dials with interchangeable satin or alligator straps.

Maral Artinian says she wanted the new Marli New York watches to coordinate with her brand’s jewels, which often feature its signature pyramid icon.

Both sizes also are available with an 18k rose gold bracelet and a full diamond 18k white gold bracelet. The full diamond L23 is set with 400 brilliant-cut diamonds and the L30 with 344 diamonds, creating what Artinian calls “Marli’s most luminous expression of the collection.”

The L35 comes in 18k rose gold and titanium, pairing mother-of-pearl dials with interchangeable black and white rubber straps. Inside, the L35 is powered by a self-winding Swiss automatic movement, hand-finished with circular graining and Côtes de Genève decoration.

Prices start at $4,900 for the L23 with a satin strap, 36 diamonds set in stainless steel, and a mother-of-pearl dial, to $73,100 for the L30 with 344 diamonds on the bracelet in 18k white gold.

Artinian spoke with JCK about the new watches, which will expand into a full collection available beginning May 2026.

“What really stands out to me right now is how much is happening all at once for the brand,” she says. “It’s shaping up to be a big year for us—with a lot more to come in the months ahead—and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally be sharing it.”

Here is an edited transcript of her conversation with JCK.

Interest in watches has grown exponentially—especially among Gen Z, who seem to want timepieces that display fun and personality. Did the rising interest in watches globally play into your decision?

We’ve certainly noticed how much interest in watches has grown, especially among Gen Z, but this is a category we’ve been developing for quite some time. What feels particularly natural is that this is a generation that really values individuality and personality, something that’s always been at the heart of the brand, so the timing feels incredibly aligned.

Gen Z is gravitating toward smaller, more refined designs right now. They really value that mix of simplicity and elegance, which is exactly why our L20 collection is so perfect for them.

How long was this in the works? Why invest so much time?

Timepieces have been part of Marli’s vision for quite some time–it’s been 5 years since we first began concepting the collection. We really took our time to get every detail right, even going so far as to acquire a watch manufacturer in Switzerland to ensure our timepieces met the highest standards of quality. It’s been a true labor of love, and we’re so proud of the collection and excited to share it with the world.

I notice you do not gender the watch sizes. Why did you make this choice?

Our audience is drawn to the unique design language that defines Marli. Whether it’s men or women, they choose us because our style naturally fits into their lives; they relate to the aesthetic and see it as a true reflection of their own personal style.

It looks like you can “personalize” at least one of the watches. Why did you want to do this?

Marli is all about freedom of expression and individuality, so we wanted to be sure our watch collection reflected that same mindset. From the interchangeable straps and dial sizes to the type and color of the strap, we wanted to offer a variety of options so the wearer can mix and match based on how they’re feeling that day. I’m personally somebody who likes to change up what I’m wearing, so I needed to have a watch for every outfit.
