There’s some welcome news for Instagram users whose grids are made up primarily of reels: They can now edit thumbnails on their posted content.
In a short video on its Threads app, Instagram shows how users can change the look of their entire grid by using the new capability to zoom on a subject. The app is reportedly still working on developing the option for users to rearrange content on their profile grids.
These functions—while they “may not seem like a major change to casual Instagram users,” according to Social Media Today—offer jewelers and other businesses the potential to polish their Insta presence.
“For social media marketers and brands seeking to maximize attention and engagement, the capacity to manage each element of that process is valuable and could play a big role in grabbing attention,” said the Social Media Today story.
In other Instagram news relevant to brands, the app is permitting all public acccounts to use some creator tools previously available only to professional mode users.
“Now all public accounts will have access to a set of foundational tools and insights to support your creative process, including an insights dashboard to see how your content is performing,” Instagram said in its announcement.
Along with the insights dashboard, public accounts can access trending audio and scheduled content. Users with at least 1,000 followers additionally get access to trial reels, channels, and IG Live, while professional accounts with at least 1,000 followers also can access monetization and ad tools.
