America’s largest shopping mall will give the day back to employees and their families
In a change from the general trend, the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., the largest shopping center in the United States, announced it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
It will open on Black Friday at 5 a.m.
“We’re pleased to give this day back to our 15,000 employees and their families,” said a message posted on Facebook that’s received more than 4,000 likes. “See you Black Friday.”
“We think Thanksgiving is a day for families and for people we care about,” Jill Renslow, the mall’s senior vice president of marketing, told the Associated Press. “We want to give this day back.”
