Mall jewelry store robbed by man dressed as a woman

A mall jewelry store in South Windsor, CT., was robbed Wednesday by an armed man, dressed as a woman, police reportedly said.

The robbery occurred at 3:30 p.m. at the Lux, Bond & Green jewelry store in the Shops at Evergreen Walk, The Hartford Courant reports.

The robber entered the store and displayed a handgun, taking several items of jewelry, the police reportedly said. There were no injuries.

The robber is described as a white male, approximately 5- feet 5-inches to 5-feet-7 inches tall and approximately 200 pounds, the newspaper reports. He was wearing women’s clothing described as a pink shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, three-quarter length black jacket, black curly wig and sunglasses.

The vehicle used in the robbery was recovered a short distance away in Manchester, the newspaper reports.
