Luxury Jewelers to Host Wedding Weekend on Madison Event

New York City’s Madison Avenue is hosting a bridal event next weekend designed to inspire local couples soon headed down the aisle.

Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, along with the Bridal Council, is staging Wedding Weekend on Madison Avenue Oct. 12 and 13, which will spotlight 30-plus retailers located along the 29 blocks between 57th and 86th streets.

Participating retailers range from the world’s most revered jewelers (Chopard, De Beers) and wedding dress designers (Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta) to speciality sellers such as fragrance and candle brand Diptyque and iconic women’s shoemakers Jimmy Choo and Giuseppe Zanotti.

Estée Lauder is sponsoring the two-day event, which will also include a special jewelry event, Diamonds and Designers, scheduled to take place 3–5 p.m. on Oct. 12. Each fine jewelry store will feature a personal appearance by a noted bridal designer who will meet with brides and help them style their head-to-toe look with jewelry. Participating jewelers in the afternoon event will include Buccellati, Chopard, David Yurman, De Beers, and Kwiat, according to a press representative for the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District.

Also on hand—tucked into other stores on the swanky retail row—will be experts in beauty, travel, photography, event planning, floral design, and fashion.

Additionally, Fujifilm is sponsoring a treasure hunt designed for couples to photograph clues using Fujifilm’s Instax cameras, then get their pix judged by professional photographers. The A+ prizes include trips to the Cayman Islands, Paris, and a Canyon Ranch location.

All proceeds from Wedding Weekend on Madison Avenue ticket sales, which are $25 per couple, will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which was founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993.
