Macy’s is starting its Black Friday sale even earlier this year—by opening on Thanksgiving night at 8 p.m.
“In a move to minimize the impact on associates, Macy’s began planning early to allow associates the time to review available shifts throughout the holiday season, including on Thanksgiving weekend, and to volunteer for the shifts they prefer,” a statement from the retailer said.
Among the specials the department store is offering is a pair of 3/8 ct. t.w. diamond stud earrings in 14k white gold for $169.
Macy’s is not alone in the bid to start the shopping season earlier. Last year, Target opened its doors on Thanksgiving night at 9 p.m, while Walmart and Sears both opened at 8 p.m.
