Macy’s has appointed chief merchandising officer Jeffrey Gennette to company president.
In this new role, Gennette will oversee Macy’s merchandising functions, as well as marketing, macys.com, and Macy’s Private Brands.
Gennette, 52, has served as Macy’s chief merchandising officer since 2009. Prior to that, he was chairman and CEO of Macy’s West. A graduate of Stanford University with a degree in English, he began as an executive trainee.
He will report to Terry J. Lundgren, company chairman and chief executive officer.
