The 2017 show will move to the InterContinental Barclay New York
The sixth annual LUXURY Privé show celebrated another successful year with the close of its 2016 show on July 23. This was the last year that the show will be at the Waldorf Astoria, as that hotel is closing.
Beginning in 2017, it will be at the InterContinental Barclay New York.
The intimate three-day show brings together fine jewelry brands, industry decision makers, and serious buyers for networking events and, of course, sales.
“This LUXURY Privé was a special one for us all,” said Sarin Bachmann, industry vice president for LUXURY Privé, in a statement. “My team and I are honored to have contributed in the jewelry narrative that has been prevalent at the Waldorf since the beginning and are thankful to share many memories celebrating our industry there. It was rewarding to see our LUXURY community unite together again and flourish in existing and new business, bookending 2016 in positive spirits and optimism for the future. Our newly appointed Advisory Board team and move to the remodeled InterContinental are just the beginning, and I’m thrilled for what’s to come.”
Buyers and exhibitors alike gushed with delight over this year’s show.
“LUXURY Privé delivers a show year after year that is like no other,” said Susan Klemt of Artistry, the private label jewelry company. “The retailers who attend are serious, qualified, decision makers, and there’s also a variety.”
Maria Frasca of Frasca Jewelers in Palm Desert, Calif., also attended the show as a buyer: “I was pleasantly surprised to find many new vendors with whom I can do business,” she said. “I discovered new sources and opened new accounts. Due to the intimacy of the event, I was able to stand at booths without being jostled or feeling I was taking too much of the vendor’s time. I enjoyed the entire experience.”
Ezra Solomon, of the bridal design studio Avigdor, exhibited at LUXURY Privé for the first time and said: “Every retailer I spoke with was the decision maker and to get the opportunity to showcase your collections and tell your story to retailers of that quality is invaluable.”
Attendees included editors from publications and blogs including W, Olivia Palermo, and Elite Traveler, Style Me Pretty, Diamonds in the Library, and Engagement 101.
