Lord & Taylor Opening Off-Price Chain

This November, Hudson’s Bay will debut Find @ Lord & Taylor, a new off-price chain tied in with the department store.

The first store will open in Paramus, N.J., in November 2015. Six additional locations are planned for 2016.

Lord & Taylor is just the latest traditional department store to venture into the off-price market: Saks, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus all have or are planning off-price stores bearing their names. The new chain is part of Hudson Bay’s outlet division, along with Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH.

Each of the new 30,000-square-foot stores will cater to a younger demographic, as demonstrated by the “@” in the title.

“Off-price continues to be a key driver of HBC’s growth strategy,” said Jerry Storch, CEO of Hudson’s Bay Co., in a statement.
