LOOT 2013: MAD About Jewelry Sale Slated for Early October

The 13th annual LOOT: Mad About Jewelry event is scheduled to take place Oct. 1–5 at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.

The curated exhibition and sale of artist-made jewelry in Manhattan has become a destination for contemporary art and studio jewelry, by both artists and collectors, as it affords the public the opportunity to acquire pieces directly from some of the world’s best talent. This year, works from more than 50 emerging and established artists will be on sale; prices for pieces will range from $200 to $12,000, with $1,000 serving as the average ticket price. Proceeds will benefit the museum’s exhibition and education programs.

The affair will kick off with a gala benefit and dinner honoring fashion icons Iris Apfel and Barbara Berger, on the evening of Oct. 1. For more information or to purchase tickets to the opening benefit, call Rebekka Grossman at 212-229-7712, email her at Rebekka.Grossman@madmuseum.org, or visit the LOOT 2013 site.
