Longtime Blue Nile Board Member Steps Down

Mary Alice Taylor will be replaced by the founder of Shop.org

Mary Alice Taylor, who joined Blue Nile’s board in 2000, is leaving the board and will be replaced by the founder of the National Retail Federation’s Shop.org division.

Stepping into Taylor’s spot is Elaine Rubin, the founder and former chairman of Shop.org, a division of the National Retail Federation, as well as the founder and president of Digital Prophets Network, a network of digital commerce experts. She is currently a board member of Moosejaw Mountaineering, the company formerly headed by Blue Nile CEO Harvey Kanter.

“Blue Nile is a special company that is revolutionizing the way consumers purchase diamonds and fine jewelry,” Taylor said in a statement. “I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing other outside interests.”
