Long’s Jewelers Celebrates Woman Who Ran 7 Marathons in 7 Days

The Boston jeweler presented Becca Pizzi with a custom gold and diamond necklace

Boston retailer Long’s Jewelers honored Becca Pizzi, a Belmont, Mass., woman who ran seven marathons in seven days, by presenting her with a custom gold and diamond necklace.

Pizzi completed the World Marathon Challenge, during which participants complete seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. Pizzi completed marathons in Antarctica, Chile, the U.S., Spain, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, and Australia. She is the first woman to have completed the challenge.

The necklace, which was presented to Pizzi on May 13, was designed by Heather B. Moore. It is a yellow gold globe charm with seven diamonds on each continent to represent the seven marathons.

“Becca is more than just an incredible athlete, she is an incredibly kind and selfless person with an infectiously positive outlook on life and a gift for inspiring others,” said Long’s president Craig Rottenberg. “Long’s has sponsored the Boston Marathon for a generation, so we know how difficult even one marathon can be. Becca’s remarkable achievement deserves a special piece of jewelry to commemorate and celebrate it!”
