LJ International Reports 47% Sales Increase in Q2

Hong Kong–based jewelry manufacturer LJ International Inc., which produces
the Lorenzo line and owns the ENZO retail jewelry stores in China, reported second-quarter
revenues of $33 million, representing a 47 percent year-over-year increase. Net
income was $2.3 million.

The company said revenue growth was strong in both retail
and wholesale operations. Second-quarter revenues for the ENZO stores, which
numbered 108 at the end of the quarter, were up 57 percent from the year
before, to $16.7 million. Wholesale revenues rose 38 percent, to $16.3 million.
