The merchandise on display at the Equipment, Technology, Supplies (ETS) pavilion at JCK Las Vegas may lack the sparkle of the goods on the main show floor, but don’t underestimate its importance to a successful retail operation.
Open through Monday, June 4, in the Bayside Exhibit Hall, level 1, the show houses some 135 exhibitors offering a diverse selection of non-jewelry products, from bench tools to packaging to software—the largest concentration of technology and tool suppliers in the country, says JCK Events industry vice president Yancy Weinrich.
Stuller and Kassoy—the highest-profile exhibitors at ETS—are well-known among retailers far and wide, but buyers shouldn’t miss the hundreds of new products from exhibitors such as Gemvision, Gesswein, Econo-Lite, and Arch Crown Tags and Labels.
At the MPI Systems booth, for example, the Wilton, Conn.–based provider of software systems tailored for jewelers is promoting the newest releases of GEMINI Pro, version 5, designed for retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers; and ShopControlPro, version 15, a manufacturing system for large-scale manufacturers. Both of the systems contain more than 70 new features and enhancements related to customer relationship management (CRM), point of sale, special order, repair, and reporting functionality.
Meanwhile, Glendale, Calif.–based Logic Mate International is spotlighting its new Jewel Mate Enterprise, a customizable, iPad-compatible software package using an SQL/.NET platform. According to president and CEO Chris Hawatian, the software boasts advanced features such as dashboard reports and key performance indicators, customizable with or without graphs. But its chief appeal, says Hawatian, boils down to common sense: “It makes the life of today’s demanding management more comfortable.”
