Though he’s had ample and varied opportunities in life,
including international travel and knowledge of fine living,
there’s one exotic taste that Roberto Coin has never experienced: marijuana.
“A voice in my head always told me not to do it,” the
designer told JCK this afternoon during
the Baselworld fair.
Though he loves nature and plants (“though I don’t have that
kind of plant,” he chuckled) Coin said he wanted, for once, to live a
little dangerously—if only through design.
Behold his Marijuana ring. Made in 18k yellow gold, it is set with 3.3 cts. t.w. colorless and 0.11 ct. brown diamonds and features sprawling
marijuana leaf designs that seemingly ensnare an 87.04 ct. rutilated quartz center stone.
“I wanted to drug myself for the first time in my life,” Coin said.
At $18,000 retail, that’s quite a high.
