Live From Baselworld: Carla Amorim’s Aurora Ring in Orange Sapphire, Carnelian, & Gold

Here at Baselworld, Brazilian jewelry designer Carla Amorim, who has an office in Chicago, is debuting two new collections: Pantone—as in the Color Institute—and Chocolate. “Jewelry and chocolate are two things women can’t resist!” explains Rosana Warner, an associate with the brand.

This particular ring, dubbed Aurora, is part of that collection. Its inspiration is Pantone’s Tangerine Tango (the color of the year) as well as burning embers (fire!). While Baselworld is the first time the trade is seeing the style, set in 18k gold with orange sapphires and carnelian, Amorim and her team have already sold several in Brazil. In November, the designer hosted a private show at her boutique on Oscar Freire street in São Paulo, where it was well received by consumers. “It’s one of our best sellers already from this collection,” Kelly Amorim, the designer’s sister and colleague tells JCK.

Aurora ring in 18k gold has 2.81 cts. orange sapphires and 14.45 cts. t.w. carnelian; $6,000.
