Chicago-based Leslie Hindman Auctioneers will sell jewels from the estate of Rita Dee Hassenfeld, ballerina and wife of Harold Irwin Hassenfeld of Hasbro Industries, the toy and game manufacturer beloved for creating Monopoly, Play-Doh, Nerf toys, and Trivial Pursuit.
The Hassenfelds lived in Nashville, Tenn., and Palm Beach, Fla.
The auction comprises approximately 250 lots and includes signed pieces from Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Belperron, David Webb, Harry Winston, and Seaman Schepps.
Two highlights from the sale: an Art Deco platinum, emerald, diamond, onyx, and enamel lapel watch by Cartier and a 9.12 ct. diamond and platinum ring by Harry Winston.
The auction will take place Sept. 16 in Chicago.
