Leather watch bands are perennially chic, but this season, leather makes a strong showing in other forms of jewelry.
In the December 2012 issue of Vogue, model Carolyn Murphy (pictured with actor Matthias Schoenaerts) wears an Hermès red calfskin cuff and a black leather cuff, along with skirt, blouse, and bag from Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. Her shoes are from Manolo Blahnik for J. Mendel.
Three of the five wide cuffs featured as examples of surefire gifts in the December 2012 issue of InStyle incorporate leather: a crystal, leather, and gold plate cuff from Stella & Dot; an embossed leather, pewter, and gold plate cuff from Rebecca Norman; and a leather and brass cuff from Sergio Rossi. A feature on the design house Marni and its designer Consuelo Castiglioni in the November 2012 issue of Elle spotlights an embroidered leather necklace and a pair of drop earrings also incorporating embellished leather.

An ad for Crislu that recently appeared in Harper’s Bazaar promotes leather bracelets with micro pavé cubic zirconia buckles.
Coach, known for its leather goods, includes its leather double wrap Turnlock Bracelet in two colors in a recent ad.
Greatly appreciated by vegans, there are attractive examples of jewelry incorporating faux or artificial leather, but they are few and far between. The February 2013 issue of People StyleWatch highlights a faux leather bracelet with gold plate detail from Vieta. The earrings pictured are rhodium-plated brass with cubic zirconia detail from Noir Jewelry.
