Changes to the 2016 show are garnering positive reviews
As JCK’s annual LUXURY jewelry show continues its three days of invitation-only attendance (which began May 31), visitors to the show at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will notice some major changes that are set to make 2016 the best year yet. With an expanded physical space (including the debut of the new Oceanside ballroom), a roster of new brands, including the addition of LUXURY Watch and Prestige, and an inspiring list of events and speaker programs, jewelry week in Las Vegas is kicking off in full force.
The LUXURY community celebrated the start of jewelry week on May 30 at the new Skyfall Lounge, a venue located at the Delano with spectacular views of Las Vegas. The official opening day of the show, May 31, began with breakfast in LUXURY’s brand-new Oceanside ballroom, which opened 30 minutes early for a special sneak peek. At that time, the five finalists for this year’s LUXURY Retailer of the Year Competition were announced: Crocker’s Jewelers, Bernie Robbins, Wick & Greene, Two by London, and Royal Jewelers. The winner of this annual competition is set to be announced during the Retailer Keynote Breakfast on June 2.
“I loved the new Oceanside ballroom and how the brands were presented. The Elite Enclave ballroom was a delight with interesting new brands as well as some great technology,” said Jim Rosenheim from Tiny Jewel Box in Washington, D.C. “Overall, I found the first day at LUXURY to be very exhilarating. I saw some of my key suppliers and spotted some great new possibilities.”
“At the beginning of day two, we are very happy with the retailer feedback of our changes,” said LUXURY industry vice president Sarin Bachmann. “We have been excited about revealing the aesthetic changes and welcoming the addition of Prestige and the new LUXURY exhibiting brands. I can happily say that the retailer community is embracing it with open arms.”
LUXURY continues as an invitation-only event and will be open to all badge holders of the JCK Las Vegas show June 3–6. LUXURY Watch runs June 2–5. For more information, visit jckonline.com/luxury.
