Las Vegas Jeweler Sues Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The boxing champ is accused of failing to pay the $1.4 million balance on a diamond necklace

Las Vegas–based Jewelers Inc. has accused former boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. of failing to pay fully for a $3 million necklace. The necklace consists of 72 round-cut diamonds, each “about 3 carats,” according to the AP. The civil suit was filed Sept. 23 in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas.

Mayweather allegedly paid $1 million when he bought the necklace and made six subsequent $100,000 payments, leaving a balance of $1.4 million.

The filing claims that Mayweather’s last payment was in May and accuses him of breach of agreement.

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, said Mayweather had no comment on the lawsuit, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
