Larkspur & Hawk’s Bridal Debut Marries Novelty and Sentiment

Brides-to-be who are fans of Bridgerton will be especially excited by the news that Larkspur & Hawk, the New York City–based jeweler known for its foil-finish jewels rooted in history (the Georgian era, in particular), is venturing into the world of wedding jewelry.

“I have spent my career learning from antique jewelry, often filling in blanks to imagine provenance—who had owned it, where it had come from, and why it had survived,” said Larkspur & Hawk’s founder and designer Emily Satloff in a statement. “Love is the common denominator that connects each story I conjure up, because most jewelry was created as a tangible expression of love—passionate, marital, parental, or friendly, but nonetheless all love.”

Larkspur & Hawk’s first-ever bridal collection, then, was inevitable—but like everything the company offers, it has a detailed process behind it. Satloff spent two years perfecting an original approach to bridal jewelry: fabric-lined pieces. She uses such textiles as silk tulle, vintage embroidered ribbon, and white silk-satin in making the girandole, drop, and button earrings and necklaces in rivière and other styles.

“I researched and selected six fabrics, imbuing unique sentiments, that would pair well with the silhouettes I chose to articulate the breadth of the collection,” said Satloff. “They range in texture and color from white to blue, and each beholds a story and mood.”

Each piece of jewelry incorporates quartz stones set in yellow gold washed sterling silver or white rhodium washed washed sterling silver for an antique effect. Additionally, the collection features a timeless 4.5 cts. t.w. diamond choker in 14k white gold, as a stand-alone or layering piece.

Perhaps the best thing about Larkspur & Hawk’s bridal collection is the option for customizing. Brides can submit cuttings from their own garments, or sentimental pieces of clothing, to have bespoke jewels created (so if Mom’s gown from the ’80s isn’t quite the aesthetic, it can still be honored on the big day).

Much like marriage, this jewelry isn’t meant to be loved for just one day; they were designed to be cherished until death do you part (and, ideally, for generations after).
