Lagos has appointed Keith Rolfe president and CEO, effective immediately, as the Philadelphia-based jewelry company transitions day-to-day leadership responsibilities from founder Steven Lagos to a broader executive team.
Rolfe (pictured, l.), who previously served as the company’s chief financial officer and chief operating officer, will oversee strategy, operations, financial performance, organizational leadership, customer growth, and enterprise decision-making, according to the company.
Under the new structure, Lagos (pictured, r.) will continue to serve as executive chairman, creative director, and innovation officer. The company said he will remain responsible for the brand’s creative vision, product innovation, design leadership, and stewardship of the Lagos brand.
The company described the move as a step in its evolution from a founder-led business to a CEO-led organization with expanded executive accountability and a deeper leadership structure designed to support future growth.
“One of the most important responsibilities of a founder is preparing the company for its future,” Lagos said in a statement. “Keith has been an exceptional leader, trusted partner, and steward of our business. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Lagos into its next chapter.”
Rolfe said he will continue working closely with the founder as the company pursues its next phase of development. “I am honored to lead our legacy brand and to continue working closely with Steven to advance its growth,” he said.
Founded in 1977, Lagos is best known for its Caviar collection and its Smart Caviar bracelets designed for the Apple Watch. The brand is sold through its Philadelphia flagship store, national partners such as Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, and independent jewelry retailers nationwide.
