Kuperman Named President of Bidz.com

Bidz.com, Inc., an online retailer of jewelry, has named Leon Kuperman as its president. He is currently chief technology officer and VP of business development. He will keep those responsibilities.

Kuperman replaces David Zinberg, president and founder of the e-commerce Web site, which offers its products through a live auction format as well as a fixed price online retail store. Zinberg will move to a more strategic role with the company, according to a statement issued Monday.

“I believe this is the right time to transition from my role as president, and I have the utmost confidence in Leon Kuperman,” said David Zinberg in the company statement. “Leon has demonstrated that he is capable of assuming that role, which will increase his responsibilities to our employees, customers, and shareholders….

Zinberg added, “Leon has done a superb job over the past two years, and over the past six months has become increasingly involved in our investor relations activities as well. I look forward to focusing my energies more intently on purchasing and overseeing our key strategic initiatives as I continue to work closely with the management team to grow the business.”

Bidz.com, founded in 1998. It’s auctions are also available in Spanish and Arabic.
