How jewelry goes social
A new Kickstarter project is hoping to take the wearables trend into the world of social media.
The Suaave is a beaded bracelet with an NFC (near-field communication) chip embedded in one of its beads.
Users can create profiles on Suaave’s website; when others scan the bracelet using a smartphone, they can access the wearer’s profile. It’s like a wearable business card.
The Suaave is being designed by a company in London, and its technology implications are exciting. Imagine being able to instantly connect on Facebook with people you meet at a party, or on LinkedIn with those you meet at a conference.
