Kendra Scott has named Chris Blakeslee, the former head of Gap-owned activewear company Athleta, its new chief executive officer, effective Jan. 12.
Scott, founder of her namesake brand, has been serving as CEO since August, when Tom Nolan, along with two other top execs, resigned. She will continue as executive chairwoman, majority shareholder, and “chief visionary officer.”
In a statement, the company said Blakeslee will help Kendra Scott expand into new categories and become “a contemporary, multigenerational lifestyle brand.”
Blakeslee was president and CEO of Athleta from August 2023 to August 2025. Prior to that, he spent five years as president of sister companies Bella + Canvas and Alo Yoga. He helped scale the latter brand from $50 million to over $1 billion, according to Kendra Scott’s statement.
