The Jewelers Vigilance Committee will present “Safe &
Compliant Gem Shipping – International Trade Simplified” at the JA/NY Summer
Show, Monday, July 26, 8:30 – 10:00 AM, Javits Convention Center, meeting room
1D 05-06. 

The seminar will explain the procedures that govern the
import and export of precious stones and metals, and jewelry.   Speakers include supervisory
import specialist Nuccio Fera, of the Port of JFK Airport, foreign trade
ombudsman, Omari Wooden, census bureau and JVC president and CEO, Cecilia
Gardner.

Attendees will receive Import and Export Basics for the
Jewelry Industry, an information sheet explaining the procedures required to
import and export products through Customs using common carriers.  The seminar is sponsored by Brink’s
Global Services and UPS and is free to attend. Registration is NOT required.  Light breakfast is available.
