JVC and JBT to present an AML seminar in Rhode Island

The Jewelers Vigilance Committee and The Jewelers Board of Trade are co-presenting an anti-money laundering seminar designed to help jewelry businesses understand if they have to comply with the new requirements.

“How to Comply with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations” will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the JBT headquarters, 95 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, Rhode Island. Cecilia L. Gardner, JVC president and CEO and Dione D. Kenyon, JBT president, will explain how the JVC and JBT trade associations can help jewelry businesses comply with AML requirements finalized by Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Steve Crogan of the Department of Homeland Security/ICE/Anti-Money Laundering Unit – New England Region, will also participate in the two-hour seminar. The seminar is free to attend but space is limited. Jan. 1, 2006 is the deadline to come into compliance.

Through its, JVC recently developed a helpful a PATRIOT Act Compliance Kit to serve as a practical resource to assist in complying with the AML requirements. The JBT is partnering with JVC and other industry association peers to offer the kit at a 15% discount for our members in good standing”
