Many design firms make antique-inspired lines, but Julie Bergstein Romanenko of Just Jules has unveiled a reproduction line of bridal rings like you’ve never seen before. The Scottsdale, Ariz.–based designer is casting and crafting ring shanks out of the patterns of unmarked and unbranded vintage bar pins with Art Nouveau styling.
Upwards of five years ago, Romanenko bought her first bar pin just for the locket attached to it, but she kept the floral-detailed pin because it was so pretty. Then she sat with it for two years, unsure of what, if anything, to do with it—until inspiration hit. “I thought it would make a killer ring,” she tells JCK. So she started collecting more (to date, she has eight vintage bar pins, all with varying types of flowers and vines), which she has cast and carved waxes of to make a beautiful and truly unique bridal jewelry line in 14k gold. Suggested retail prices start at $880 for a band and $1,500 for a semi-mount. Cuffs are also available.
Floral wedding band in 14k gold with .06 ct. t.w. full-cut diamonds, $1,210
