Jury Acquits Former Wisconsin Jeweler of Theft Charges

On Mar. 1, Tyler Kosmoski, former owner of the Diamond Factory in Ashwaubenon, Wis., was acquitted of 12 charges of theft, according to reports by Packers News.

Kosmoski was arrested in July 2011, and charged with taking customer’s jewelry in for consignment and not paying them back or returning the pieces. The defense argued that the vendors or store staff could have taken the pieces after the store closed, according to a report from local station WTAQ.

Kosmoski could have faced up to 61 years in prison and $160,000 in fines.
