What makes Miami-based designer Juliana Krys’ work so compelling is the source she relies on for ideas—herself. “Everything I create is really selfishly for myself. I wanted the kind of accessories that were cool and what a rock star might wear,” Krys said in a statement on her latest collection, Baller.
Though it’s named for the shape that appears in each piece, the collection is indeed baller—that is, really good, impressive. Krys’ designs are superchic but unfussy, the perfect kind of jewels for those who love to pile things on and never take them off.

“With the Baller collection, I was inspired by the raw, utilitarian beauty of hardware—a simple object like the ball chain that people often overlook,” Krys said. “I saw an elegance in its form that naturally lent itself to fine jewelry.
“By refining the proportions, using 18k gold, and paying attention to every detail, I transformed something industrial into something wearable and elevated. It’s that unexpected contrast that makes the collection feel modern and edgy, yet still timeless. And I wanted a piece that clients can continue to add onto over time.”

Krys’ Baller jewelry is customizable: Select from two sizes (3 mm or 5 mm) for the balls, and from a variety of clasps—pavé diamonds, with a diamond border, ribbed texture, Florentine finish, and more—to jazz up the necklaces and bracelets. Prices in the collection range from $750 for a single 18k stud earring to $10,625 for the 3 mm necklace with round and marquise diamonds (pictured at top).

“I love to layer the pieces from the Baller collection—it’s part of the fun,” Krys says. “It has this effortless edge that works just as well dressed up or down, I personally wear a couple of the 5 mm chains at various lengths with diamond beans out to dinner, or I stack it with the 3 mm necklaces with plain beans over a tee if I’m just running around. I will also combine the chains of the same diameter to really make a statement.
“Sometimes an outfit just needs a long chain. I also love to make a statement with a 24-inch chain wrapped around my wrist six times. The versatility is everything—it’s jewelry that stands out without trying too hard. It’s quite luxury,” she adds.

“Right now, many of my clients are gravitating toward gold because it feels like a safe, timeless investment, especially in an unpredictable economy,” Krys notes. “Gold has always held its value, and there’s a sense of stability and permanence in it.
“Plus, it’s versatile and elevates any look, which makes it not just a smart choice, but a chic one, too. It’s still a tangible asset without being flashy.”
